Catch-up Club
‘Improving attendance is everyone’s business. The barriers to accessing education are wide and complex, both within and beyond the school gates, and are often specific to individual pupils and families. The foundation of securing good attendance is that school is a calm, orderly, safe, and supportive environment where all pupils want to be and are keen and ready to learn’ DFE Guidance 2022
WHY ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL AND PUNCTUALITY IS IMPORTANT
• 98% attendance means that your child has missed 4 days in the school year
• 95% attendance means that your child has missed 10 days in the school year
• 90% attendance means that your child has missed 19 days in the school year
• 80% attendance means that your child has missed 38 days in the school year
• 5 minutes late each day means three whole days lost each year
• Attendance affects learning, future learning, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging
We are offering a catch up club for your child who may have missed learning. Every Thursday after school until 4pm your child can come and work with Mrs Leigh to enable them to catch up so they are ready to continue their learning journey with their peers in class without having any gaps in their knowledge and skills.
Please let us know if you would like your child to attend after a period of absence.
Thank you
Mrs Leigh
