Whole School Curriculum Intent
To inspire and nurture our learners to feel empowered and able to become responsible citizens in the community and wider world, whilst motivating them to aspire and achieve the highest standards.
RE Curriculum Intent Statement
In the life of faith of our Christian School, Religious Education plays a central and vital part. We are committed to Catholic RE because all pupils have the right to receive an overall religious education. RE is for all and is a collaborative activity, which respects and promotes the child’s innate capacity for wonder, awe, inquisitiveness and questioning.
At Christ the King, we aim to educate the whole person. At the heart of the school is a sense of purpose, which is to create a community that shares the values of wisdom, respect, forgiveness, creativity, wisdom and perseverance as shown through the example of Christ.
From September 2024 our Reception class will follow the the new RED curriculum from 'Kip and Friends' designed by Margeret Carswell. This includes content mandated for teaching at EYFS. It structures around the 6 branches of the curriculum design - 5 of which follow the Liturgical year.
